Seiko advance Ethics Policy

In order to fulfill our corporate social responsibility, Seiko advance respects the human rights of all people involved with our company, and in particular, gives maximum consideration to the human rights of our employees. To that end, we value the value of employees' work and have created a work environment in which people who have achieved results through their efforts receive fair evaluations, regardless of race, skin color, creed, sex, religion, nationality, or illness. In our recruitment activities, we would like to employ people with diverse values and ideas, regardless of race, skin color, creed, sex, religion, nationality, or the presence or absence of illness. In addition, we believe that it is important to follow fair business practices in order to fulfill our corporate social responsibility, and we will strive to prevent corrupt practices and respect intellectual property to the maximum extent possible.

From this perspective, we have established the following basic policy.

1. Respect for fundamental human rights

We respect basic human rights that are inherent to humankind and will not infringe on them.

2. Prohibition of inhumane treatment

We do not tolerate inhumane treatment, including any type of harassment such as sexual harassment or power harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, physical or mental coercion, verbal abuse, or confiscation of personal property or original official documents held by individuals (e.g. passports).

3. Prohibition of forced labour and child labour

We will not use any forced labour such as prison labour or slave labour at any stage of our business activities, nor will we use any child labour under the legally required age. This does not only mean that we will not use such labour in our direct or indirect contractual relationships, but also that we will not allow those who have a direct or indirect contractual relationship with us to use such labour in the course of their business (for example, having their children perform work at home).

4. Non-Discrimination

We will eliminate discrimination on grounds such as race, creed, sex, religion, nationality, or illness, and will achieve equal employment opportunities and fair treatment.

5. Respect for workers' rights (Policy on labour-management unions)

In accordance with the law, we respect employees' freedom of association and their right to join or not join labour unions, and we value dialogue based on mutual trust.

6. Ensuring fair employment conditions (working hours, wages, and employee health)

We comply with the law, properly manage working hours, holidays, and vacations, and create an environment where employees can work in good health both physically and mentally. We also pay salaries in compliance with wage-related laws and will not unfairly reduce the salaries of employees.

7. Anti-Corruption

We strive to prevent bribery, extortion and all other forms of corruption that impede fair and free competition by complying with relevant domestic and international laws and regulations. Specifically, we prohibit the following actions by our employees:

(I) Providing, offering or promising money or other benefits to public officials or persons in a similar position in Japan or abroad for the purpose of obtaining illicit benefit

(II) Providing, offering or promising money or other benefits to officers or employees of private companies in Japan or abroad for the purpose of obtaining illicit benefits.

8. Respect for Intellectual Property

We consider intellectual property (inventions, ideas, designs, trademarks, trade secrets, etc.) to be a source of competitiveness in our business activities, and we strive to create, utilize and manage such intellectual property. At the same time, we recognize the maximum value of third-party intellectual property and promote business activities that respect it.

9. Whistleblowing and Complaint Reception

In order to realize this policy, we will endeavour to properly grasp any violations and will establish a system for accepting anonymous whistleblowers and complaints. We also promise not to treat whistleblowers or complaint filers unfairly or in retaliation for making such a complaint.

10. Information Disclosure

In our business activities, we will accurately record information relating to labour and human rights, safety and health, the environment, and corporate ethics without falsifying or misrepresenting it, and will disclose this information appropriatelyaccordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Seiko advance Safety and Health Activity Policy and Goals

1. Activity Policy

In order to create a safe and secure working environment, all employees work together to proactively engage in health and safety activities, protect the health of employees, and implement activities to achieve "zero" workplace accidents.

2. Activity Goals

  • I. Through safety and health activities, we will create a work environment where employees can work with peace of mind.

    Strive to maintain the first control category in work environment measurements, and take measures to improve the work environment if it is determined that there is room for improvement in the control concentration. Prevent long working hours through work style reform.

  • II. We will dig deep into risk assessment factors, clarify all potential hazards in the workplace and work, and promote the creation of a safe workplace that goes beyond "zero occupational accidents" to "zero danger."

    Based on the results of the risk assessment, we will set priorities for measures to reduce risks, and periodically evaluate their effectiveness.

  • III. By enhancing the hygiene management system and promoting mental health measures, we aim to maintain and improve the mental and physical health of our employees.

    Based on the results of various health examinations and stress checks, we will consider reviewing work methods and conduct awareness-raising activities for health promotion and disease prevention.

  • IV. By carrying out KY activities (hazard prediction activities), we will understand the risk factors of near misses and aim for zero workplace accidents with the participation of all employees.

    Safety and health committee members will conduct safety and health disaster prevention patrols between different departments twice a year and carry out KY activities (hazard prediction activities). We will also encourage other departments to proactively report near misses.
